Ukrainian Organizations:

Revived Soldiers Ukraine:
According to its Facebook page, Revive Soldiers Ukraine’s programs are mostly focused on medical rehabilitation as the reflection of the most urgent needs. Initiatives include assisting severely injured soldiers to receive medical help and rehabilitation in other countries, promoting cooperation between USA and Ukraine as to mutually beneficial social and economic programs in both countries, helping hospitals treat those wounded in ATO conflict by supplying emergency medical aid and supplies, supporting children and women in their right to a healthy living, satisfying housing needs to soldiers of Ukraine and their families.

Nova Ukraine:
Dedicated “to raising awareness about Ukraine in the US and throughout the world and providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine. We work closely with non-profits and volunteers focused on helping Ukraine. We organize fundraisers, meetings with Ukrainian famous people, round tables discussions dedicated to Ukraine and Ukrainian culture and participate in various cultural events. Since December 2013 we have collected over $500,000 in donations.”

United Help Ukraine:
Activities “focus on fundraising events and raising awareness of the crisis in Ukraine by engaging individuals, organizations, private and government institutions, and media in the United States of America. Receives and distributes donations, as well as food and medical supplies to refugees and people impacted by the invasion.”

Razom for Ukraine
The nonprofit is collecting donations for its emergency response project to provide medical supplies, humanitarian aid, and support volunteers on the ground. The group is also partnering with other Ukrainian-targeted organizations like Nova Ukraine, United Help Ukraine, Revived Soldiers Ukraine, Sunflower for Peace, and Euromaidan-Warszava, according to its website. The organization says it will use funds to purchase tourniquets, bandages, combat gauzes, sterile pads, and satellite phones." It also says it is arranging warehouses and points of delivery in Poland and Ukraine.

International Organizations

UNICEF
UNICEF supports health, nutrition, HIV prevention, education, safe drinking water, sanitation and protection for children and families caught in the conflict in Ukraine. Heavy weapons fire along the line of contact has already damaged critical water infrastructure and education facilities in recent days," said UNICEF Executive Director Catherine M. Russell in a statement.

Médecins Sans Frontiers/Doctors Without Borders
MSF runs a range of activities in Ukraine working with local volunteers, organizations, health care professionals and authorities to help people travel to health care facilities and access prescribed medications.

Voices of Children
The Ukrainian organization Charitable Foundation helps provide psychological and psychosocial support to children affected by the armed conflict, according to its website. Voices of Children's efforts of support for kids include art therapy, video storytelling, providing mobile psychologists and even individual help for families.

Sunflower of Peace
The nonprofit organization is raising money to prepare first aid medical tactical backpacks for paramedics and doctors on the front lines. Each backpack is designed for groups of 5 to ten people and includes an array of first aid supplies — such as bandages, anti-hemorrhagic medicine and medical instruments, according to the organization Facebook page.

International Committee of the Red Cross
This Switzerland-based organization is aiming to help people affected by the conflict and support the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

Save the Children
Save the Children, based in London, helps to deliver lifesaving aid to vulnerable children in Ukraine and around the world. According to its website, the organization says it is on the ground in the U.S. and other parts of the world "delivering essential humanitarian aid We are gravely concerned for children in Ukraine, Afghanistan and around the world who might be caught in the middle of armed conflict, forced to flee their homes and exposed to injury, hunger and sub-zero temperatures," the organization writes in a statement online.

CARE
CARE is raising money for its Ukraine Crisis Fund, which will provide immediate aid including food, water, hygiene kits, support services and direct cash assistance. The humanitarian organization aims to raise $20 million and help at least 4 million Ukrainians. It says it will prioritize women and girls, families and the elderly. International Committee of the Red Cross:
Staff members support includes emergency assistance such as food, water, and other essential items.
Staff members also support hospitals and primary healthcare facilities, and repair water stations and support households to rehabilitate their damaged homes.

Malteser International:
“For over 60 years, we have provided relief and recovery during and following conflicts and disasters. We also work alongside vulnerable communities on long-term programs to deliver lasting change. Christian values and humanitarian principles form the foundations of our work: bringing aid to people regardless of their religion, background, or political convictions at over 100 Projects in more than 20 countries.“

Global Giving
The charity organization GlobalGiving has started a Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund which will provide shelter, food, and water to the 500,000 refugees and counting. The money will also be used for health and psychosocial care, as well as education and economic assistance, according to the organization's website. All donations to the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund will support humanitarian assistance in impacted communities in Ukraine and surrounding regions where Ukrainian refugees have fled," the fund page reads. GlobalGiving's local partners are bringing relief to terrified and displaced communities, and they need resources to continue their life-saving work.

International Rescue Committee
The International Rescue Committee is collecting financial donations that will go toward supporting resources and aid to displaced families. The organization specializes in helping refugees around the world who have been forced from their homes. They target communities where people lack vital resources for resettlement and recovery from crises. They also play a vital role in resettlement efforts in the United States.

Chicago Archbishop Blase Cupich offered his support for Ukraine on Sunday while celebrating Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral.

Prayers were offered in English and Ukrainian to end Russia's attack on the democratic country and bring about peace.

"This moment is about the territorial integrity of a nation, the ability of a country that has enjoyed democracy for 30 years to continue in self-determination and the rights of people to select their own government," Cupich said. "But, young people, this is also about you, because this moment is an opportunity for the whole world to reflect on what kind of world we want to leave to future generations."

The people of the Archdiocese of Chicago stand with our brothers and sisters suffering under attack in Ukraine.

Most of us know war in Europe from the stories of our parents and grandparents, from history portrayed in films and books. This attack on a peaceful, sovereign nation is a sad reminder that the work of peace is never over.

Please pray with me for the safety of all now under fire and for those in other nations fearful the war in Ukraine may overspread their borders.

I have asked that prayers for peace in Ukraine be added to all Masses in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
